ASOS and sit-up TV Directors prepare for ethical fashion launch
Quentin Griffiths and Adam Smith (ex-Directors at ASOS.com and sit-up TV respectively) will launch the first dedicated Ethical Fashion eCommerce business, ADILI.com, next month. ADILI, which means ‘ethical’ or ‘just’ in Swahili, will sell a range of the best ethical fashion currently available, concentrating on women’s and children’s wear initially. Items for sale on the site will include organically produced jeans, Fair Trade T-shirts and organic cotton baby clothes. Brands stocked will include Ciel (worn by Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchet and Zoë Ball), Howies, Hug, Made, Epona and many more.
Quentin Griffiths (Founder & Non-Executive Director) said “We have managed to pull together a powerful team of retailing talent and ethical knowledge that will capture the public’s imagination and their conscience. Its time to give something back and protect a) the people and communities that are so often overlooked in the fashion supply chain and b) our planet, so often abused in the process of producing low cost fashion garments”
Adam Smith (CEO) said “Our vision is to create a high-quality online store that sells ethically sourced product and to demonstrate that ethical fashion can compete with the traditional high street offering on style and price. We have put in place a first-class team and are working with an excellent web design agency. Feedback from suppliers has been tremendous and together we hope to further heighten consumer awareness and grow the ethical fashion market.”
The website is now live and the affiliate program should be launching this week via TradeDoubler.co.uk
We will be launching with a bang 20% on all referred sales for the first four weeks, then default is 12%
