Ok I hate media player ads, they come on when I boot up my putter, annoying and today was the day I dive into my registry on an hunt down and terminate once and for all mission. But wait\u2026 what ad did I get today that had me creasing up? It was an ad for Rhapsody<\/a> along the lines of.. Financial Economic down turn, get fifteen of the most depressing albums to go with your mood or some thing along those lines (ironic that I can\u2019t get that ad to pop up again, cat n mouse springs to mind). That really did tickle me and Id rate that as a successful marketing ad, how ever, Im still committed to that search and destroy pop up ad, if any one can tell me where I need to look, Id be grateful cos I cant find it :0(<\/p>\n

But I did want to touch upon the economic down turn as Im seeing some similarities with The Great Depression of the 30\u2019s. Tin Pan Alley<\/a> of course is synonymous with that period of time. instead of music publishers I see rows and rows of ecommerce types all bashing out their latest websites, ideas for making a buck, a pound, krona? (seriously annoyed when you type in Iceland into google the first result is the supermarket, I rather think Iceland the country should be weighted as a little more important, but that\u2019s a whole other blog for another day, and a curious quote from Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt”The internet is a “cesspool” where falsehoods reverberate in increasingly louder waves” is this irony?)<\/p>\n

So Ill leave you with some food for thought on how future historians may one day look back at this time of our 2008 economic crunch. Lets bring the 1930\u2019s depression into a 2008 context.
