Technology has advanced and a few savvy online companies have started collecting mobile phone numbers and the clock is ticking, some nice mobile stats here and Apple sales figures A jaw dropping 6.9 Million iPhones Sold!

“A study published by the IAB has revealed that mobile advertising is being treated with caution by marketers, agencies and online publishers.
The research, which questioned UK brands, agencies and media owners found that the success of the medium will be related to how the mobile advertising industry deals with the lack of standards, measurement, evidence and creative, coupled with the notoriously slow user experience of mobile web access.” Source NMK

Window Cleaners dvd

Just to clarify on the measuring (tracking) side of things, you are able to track mobile phone campaigns much in the same way as you would track any other, in fact tracking mobile phone campaigns is less skewed then tracking off line magazine ads. There are mobile marketing companies out there in the UK and US already working in this sector and the really interesting part about mobile advertising is that you can, even as an affiliate, promote your merchant via this channel too. The affiliate tracking technology is there and I have seen it in action, it’s not that difficult.

Dangerous Parking dvd

Mobile advertising will almost certainly open up the doors to just about any one and every one. The IAB is correct to highlight their respondents concerns that being the lack of regulation and monitoring of this revenue stream. We just have to look at email spam which is already an huge problem, so I wonder who is already out there creating a mobile phone ad spam tools (have I just given some one a good idea, run with it, we will need it in the future, maybe mobile phone companies are already there)
The Core divx
http://www.consumer-preference.com/2006/04/wap-browsing-statistics-uk.html

War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave download Don’t Say a Word ipod Mobile advertising, I predict will take over email marketing at some point, it facilitates immediate direct consumer response in so many ways and Im drooling just thinking about the myriad of ways in which we can use mobile advertising and how affiliate marketing can get involved, maybe having a telephone number on the merchant’s site may not be such a “no no” in a couple of years time.

If I look at the US and what is happening there, they are a lot closer in terms of technology and speed, speed and cost being one of the bottle necks here, US have more choice to be sure, this is filtering through to the UK now, so UK is not too far behind.
The Comedians of Comedy: Live at the El Rey divx
I read an interesting article by Cory Treffiletti which further supports that mobile marketing is poised to make a very loud noise.

Will the recession have any impact?
A Perfect Murder hd

download Return of the Living Dead III

Im leaning towards,no not really, because I still don’t think its worth investing in mobile marketing just yet from an advertisers perspective but thats not to say you should not be doing your research now and as for technology, there will always be capital for that and money will always be found to pay those mobile phone bills and history shows us, people will still make always make money, no matter what the economic climate.

So how many of us rushed out and bought up wap domain names?
