I was feeling a bit nostalgic for the old websites I had started many years ago as I set out on my journey to discover what being an affiliate entailed. I came across a website that was still being hosted and loads of cached pages from google pertaining to other websites which I thought had been long gone. To my surprise, quite a few of the pages were still live and lots of my affiliate links were still working. Some links still pointed to a merchants site and whist the deep links to products went to an echo of what the merchant sold at the time, some merchants were savvy enough to display \u201cSorry this product is no longer in stock\u201d or words to that effect. I then tried to trace the links back to the Affiliate Networks that I had joined back in the day and tried to log in using combinations of all user names and passwords that I had used. Cj.com had suspended my account for inactivity yet a lot of the merchants I had been promoting are still active today, could they still be making money from my referred links? Probably!<\/p>\n<p>We seldom see articles written about the income affiliate networks and merchants get that the affiliate will never see any residual income from.<br \/>\nFood for thought?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So this is Christmas and a New Year about to begin.
