New Kid on the block, Introducing Profitistic.co.uk
I managed to catch up with Dave Bird from the newly launched UK affiliate network Profitistic and asked him a few questions about the company, aims and objectives. Can You Tell Me More About Profitistic?
“Sure. Early last year, I launched a pay-per-click ad network called Advertistic. The idea was that advertisers would be able to browse participating publishers websites and purchase clicks directly through an open storefront.
The problem we ran into with this was that firstly, advertisers seemed quite reluctant to embrace the concept, maybe because it was a fairly cumbersome process to place an ad and also the huge levels of click-fraud we encountered. We found that we were spending far too much time monitoring click-fraud and too little time building the business. So, over time, we started fleshing out the adverts we served with CPA ads that were easily accessible and performance related.
This worked really well, and so towards the end of last year I decided to morph the network into a dedicated affiliate network concentrating on servicing CPA and CPS programs. At this point we thought a re-brand was necessary, and alas, Profitistic was born!”
Who is behind Profitistic?
“I am the founder of the network, and have had experience in affiliate marketing as a merchant, an affiliate and an affiliate manager. I still own a number of affiliate websites and this stands me in good stead to understand the process from all angles.
In addition there is Simon Wild who works as an affiliate manager, Mark Vernon who is our dedicated tech and service guy and then we have an accountant who hovers around telling me to stop spending money here, and start saving money there! So, we are a very small team, and I have to say that it works very well at our current level.”
How will you differ from other networks?
“I guess our USP is built around our pricing structure, which is that we don’t charge merchants set-up fees and we don’t force them to pay any monthly fees. The only fees our merchants pay are based upon our performance. We are already seeing great results with this as a number of good quality merchants begin to join the network on both exclusive terms and because they are fed-up with having to pay monthly fees without the return. I should add though that just because it is free to join, does not mean we will take anybody on, and any potential merchants need to have displayed a clear intent to succeed in their marketplace, preferably with a desire to listen to advice and work hard at their program. The feedback of our service so far has been very good.”
What is your main goal for 2007?
“Well, we are building the network and can already offer150 or so programs to our affiliates. The goal has to be to build a reputation for quality and to receive recognition that high network fees don’t necessarily mean a high level of service. We want to turn the networks on their heads with this and I think that’s long overdue.”
The network offers CPC, CPA and CPS and does not just facilitate UK, but USA and Europe
I’m sure we would all like to wish Dave and the gang all the best, welcome into the affiliate marketing arena and I hope to see you at one of the many events either here in the UK or US.
