Affiliatesummit.com London feed back
Well if affiliatesummit.com wanted an international presence, they certainly got it!
We identified the following languages and accents. German, Italian, French, Dutch, South African, Australian/Possibly New Zeeland, American & Canadian (yes there is a subtle difference).Whilst affiliatesummit.com (London) was not the biggest in terms of their US summits, it certainly yielded more in terms of new business (non UK) opportunities for affiliateprogramadvice.com by contrast to the US summit. Perhaps because it was not so enormous there was a better opportunity for longer chats and a less pressure in terms of time, jury is out on that one.
Linus Gregoriadis key note opening speech was fantastic and nicely pitched for those who were coming from home and away from home. Gave a great insight into the current affiliate marketing trends, hopes and future.
David Hall of affiliatewindow.com gave a nice introduction and one of the emphasis was placed upon the need for collaboration, a subject dear to my own heart.
Shawn Collins and Missy gave us a brief insight into the US market and the potential in tapping into the Mobile and video technology.
I finally got to shake Wil Reynold’s hand and have a quick chat to one of my heros of search, this was the high light of the summit for me. Charming and gracious and way smart! If there was one person I could give an award to, Wil Reynolds would be my choice hands down, simply for making something fairly complex seem so easy. All in all, a good turn out… but, opportunities were missed (not in a negative way) I felt that some of the non UK specific attendees were feeling very much the way some of the UK attendees had felt when they first attended affiliate summit in the US. A little lost, a little out of their depth and reluctant to put their hands up and ask questions in public. This is not an issue at all, its something that will be rectified over time.
With knowledge comes confidence 🙂

Im Sure Shawn or Missy will comment in a day or so and let you know.
Thanks for stopping by
Js 🙂
Great event and *thank you* for helping get it up and running Jess. Good to see you, Shawn and Missy.
I like the laid back atmosphere at Affiliate Summit and the fact that it was not overly crowded. The noisy/crowded events like ad:Tech are not my cuppa tea.
Hi Francesco –
We’ve be doing research in the coming months about Affiliate Summit in Europe in 2008.
Currently, the only Affiliate Summit with scheduled dates is in Las Vegas on February 24-26, 2008.
Hey You!!
Lil ol me? I’m just a guy who likes his job! Thanks for the kudos. Will I see you at ASW in Vegas?
Yes Wil… little ol U, you have achieved global celebrity status, have you seen all the blogs about you? Wow! So now that you are a celeb, does this mean you will be getting drunk, taking drugs and Familiarizing yourself with rehab, shaving your head, buying designer bags to carry your pet poodle, have your own fragrance… “Wil R Cherche pour vous, Eau de Toilette pour home by Givenchy”
On a serious note, you are awsome and credit where credit is due! Im not sure about Las Vegas yet, I hope so, but will know nearer the time. Dont stop doing what you do ;0)
Js 🙂

I really wished I could come, unfortunately it was too late to book the flight from Italy when I knew about it.
Do you know if we will be having a new one in Europe any time soon?
Thanks Francesco
