Are You A New Affiliate?
To those affiliates that have just joined us, welcome to affiliate marketing.
It does not have to be MYSQL,PHP NUKE,XML nor does it have to be object oriented programming or flow charts (wow, I know those words….no really I do… But do I know what they mean?, haven’t a clue mate, roflmao)
You might be thinking to yourself “where do I begin”? First of all I would suggest you that you don’t try to reinvent the wheel, shopping portals have been done to death. I suggest you also forget making a generic website. The best affiliate websites by far, has always been the website which is rich in content ( which is why blogging has become very popular). Imagine for one moment there you are brand new search engine, and you want to return results that will keep your visitors coming back time and time again. What kind of websites would you want to display, a website with flashing banners and little contents or the website that is rich in information? Affiliate marketing from an affiliate’s perspective does not have to be difficult, you don’t need a great deal of technical know-how just good old fashioned words, sentences, paragraphs in other words copy. The best websites are the ones that a hobby based where we can see that the author has a passion about the subject matter and has spent a long time researching the subject. Can these websites make a living for these authors the answer is a resounding yes. If you still feel that you want to create a website whereby you’re offering information to your visitors on where you can buy products online, my suggestion would be pick a marketplace let’s, say for example fashion. instead of focusing on generic terms like jeans, skirts, dresses, accessories, tops or any category to do with clothing, you should be focusing on specific search terms; for example skinny jeans. you can hone this down even further for example, black skinny jeans, cropped blue skinny jeans, women’s vintage black skinny jeans By focusing your website on just one of the examples above you’re already ahead of many popular shopping portals. If you want to be really clever register a domain name for example, blackskinnyjeans (what ever extension). You should find yourself listed quite highly if not in top position for that search term. The example I have shown does work but you cannot ignore keywords, anchor texts, and good quality content. Keep in the back of your mind that most search engines would rather affiliates did not exist for the simple reason that most search engines like Google see themselves as the ultimate super affiliate.
