Ban Facebook?
Implications of Banning Face-book
With two thirds of companies now implementing banning software to stop their staff spending productive hours poking and chucking cows, and merchants gleefully getting imbedding Face-book links into their pages, it seems the combination may have unknowingly produced a problem for affiliates and merchants alike.
The problem , and I don’t know how deep the burrow goes, is that some of the software they use not only bans Face-book, but all links to Face-book. Therefore any page that has a Face-book link imbedded ie the book-marking software, will kick the user into touch.
So work users can happily browse away on a site until they click to buy a product which is when the software sees the Face-book bookmark and bounces them into oblivion.
No sale.
So if I were you I’d start checking my merchants to see if they have the links and let them know the possible implications of their book-marking.
