123-reg.co.uk it would be easier contacting the dead
123-reg.co.ukWhat happens when you need to contact them urgently?
Jack is the answer. I think Ill have more luck contacting the dead!4 support tickets and 35 unanswered calls (even at the premium rate of 50p per minute, they still don’t pick up) This is what my past client has experienced and I have joined this farce and contributed two support tickets and four calls.
The domain name my past client bought was due for renewal, he operates his business on this domain name, it’s his lively hood and as a small business he can’t afford to lose sales. So when he pays for the renewal for his domain name, he finds that instead of renewal its been put into pending with a view to expire.
The consequences of this are that he has no website today. So now you see the urgency.
Upon doing a rec of 123-reg.co.uk I find that their parent company is Pipex http://www.pipex.co.uk/rc/mini/?source=cpc-srch-ggl
and I also find this lovely link http://pipexcommunicationsplc.com/ Some hosting and domain registration companies are great, we use www.kualo.co.uk for some of our website hosting, customer services are very very good. For domain name registration, we use www.godaddy.com (never had a problem) Please please as a warning to others, do your due diligence before signing up with any one, do a google on them, test their customer support. Don’t get into a situation like my past client (present friend)I also notice 123-reg.co.uk have an affiliate program http://www.123-reg.co.uk/affiliate.shtml
(Perhaps their forte may lie in comedy as it’s certainly not in their support)

A word of warning, re GoDaddy. They have pulled fast ones on a couple of people, effectively stealing their domains off them. Be really, REALLY careful about ensuring your contact details are up to date on any GD held domains
Hey Lydon:
Response from godaddy re UK domain transfer “We are not able to do transfers of .co.uk’s at this time”
Jess 🙂
Thanks Jess
I pretty much exclusively use an eNom reseller account for my .com domains, but they are a tad expensive for .co.uk’s but I guess you get what you pay for. Time to bite the bullet I think!
Lyndon.

Thanks for the warning.
I was just about to pay Nominet to forcefully remove some domains from xreg, who simply take your money, don’t renew your domains and don’t reply to emails or telephone messages.
My only concern with Godaddy is that I can’t find much information about transferring in .co.uk domains on their site.
Guess I’ll keep looking!
