The new relationship between Bad Boy and Shogun includes product endorsement, advertising, promotion, personal appearances, product design involvement and even a line of Shogun “signature” fight apparel, The most noticeable aspect of the relationship will be when Shogun dons the legendary Bad Boy “Sungão,” the original Vale Tudo fight shorts as he represents Bad Boy on the international MMA stage.

He is scheduled to fight later this year against a yet unnamed opponent in the UFC. His return to action comes after a long layoff due to a knee injury. Shogun has spent the last few months in his hometown of Curitiba, Brazil rehabilitating his knee. “My Rehab has been going well. I have been taking my time to do it right. I do not want to sit out again due to injury. I will be 100% for my next fight” stated Shogun.” Additionally, Shogun has opened his new MMA school; Universidade de Luta (“The University of Fighting”) The school will feature top-level instruction as well as world-class fighters including his older brother Murilo “Ninja” Rua. Shogun began his martial arts training with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of six. At seven years of age, he decided also to train in Muay Thai. To date, he maintains a perfect fight record of 10-0 in Muay Thai. “Shogun” was a top-level competitor in BJJ championships at the Blue and Purple belt level. Rua followed his older brother’ Murilo “Ninja” Rua’s footsteps and began training in Muay Thai at the legendary Chute Boxe Academy. In addition to Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, “Shogun” also currently trains in wrestling and boxing. He holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Nino Schembri. “I am known for being one of the most exciting fighters in MMA, and I will bring my style of fighting to the UFC, I promise you that,” stated “Shogun”.
