Affiliate Future Xenon
Much has been made of how much better and more simplified Affiliate Future’s new Xenon feeds platform would be and having put up with complete rubbish for the best part of two years I was not going to be easily convinced that Affiliate Future could either come up with a half decent feeds platform or that they even knew how.
Was I wrong!
Their new platform isn’t just about feeds of course as the entire Xenon project encompasses far more with sections for content units (widgets), discount codes and lots more.
It still needs a lot more doing to it for me to be totally satisfied (I cannot currently find the codes only applying to merchants I am subscribed to without going through them all) and Affiliate Future have a lot to do to ensure that once they have finished the adjustments to their new platform, that they keep it populated.
I was asked by Affiliate Future along with a number of others to provide feedback. So as datafeeds are my bread and butter I thought I would start there.
It’s a little confusing to determine which format, whether a direct call ftp or a download but I finally got the hang of what I needed and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels trailer After logging in and watching the video I created a download.

Once I had clicked on Info I was presented with a simple line. A url which I copied and pasted into my platform. No more deepfeed prefix, no adding affiliate id or password or merchant id. Everything is embedded in the feed.

Then just clicking the mapping process and an instant result in that I could then quickly edit the fields.

Just one click later I was able to immediately view a rough website layout using Convert A Feed.

After adjusting the size of images and the columns I then saved this and viewed it on a live website using a temporary url.

The information was very detailed.

Now what is wrong with a system when used in conjunction with Convert A Feed could produce a complete website in less than a minute?
Well there is just one tiny problem. I cannot tell if the feed I am acquiring has one product or a thousand unless I download and open it first. Sort of defeats the object of clicking a button to let it do the rest. I would like to know the size of the file I am downloading. Saves me destroying a site which has been SEO’d to the max and populated with loads of products, only to be replaced with a “new” feed containing a handful of products.
Other than that. A fine effort Affiliate Future. Now make use of this new system and provide affiliates with decent feeds or your new platform won’t be worth diddly.
