Urban Retro Use Of Discount Codes
*Important Requirement – Discount Codes*
Urban Retro issues a limited number of exclusive discount codes offering your customers 10% off all displayed prices. Affiliates who are NOT issued a discount code shall NOT display codes belonging to other affiliates.
Any affiliate found promoting an unauthorised discount code shall be suspended from the Urban Retro program.
Affiliates granted the use of discount codes shall at all times ensure compliance in accordance with published guidelines.
Affiliates who ignore these guidelines shall be suspended from the Urban Retro program.
This new requirement is effective immediately for all new affiliates joining the Urban Retro program. Existing affiliates have until 1/1/09 to ensure compliance.

There is a place for discount codes but it’s the responsibility of everyone including affiliates to ensure they are used properly. For too long discount codes have not been properly controlled and to implement changes is in my view not an overnight experience, hence my willingness to allow progressive adjustments up to the 1/1/09 deadline for compliance.
This way it gives everyone the time to make necessary and fundamental changes and ensure there can be no excuses for non compliance after that date.
Following on from my blog post yesterday, it’g great to see a merchant taking this stance.
