Google Cart UK a weeks reflection
Most UK networks are now either google compliant or very close to becoming google compliant. So phase one of trying to minimise the risk so affiliates don’t lose out on commissions on that score, seems to be sorting itself out. It’s been an interesting week and judging from the many many people who I have spoken to, I am relieved to hear that most, if not all, have varying degrees of concern about this latest wave of gc paranoia. Are we all being too paranoid? Should we perhaps just roll over and accept anything that is thrown at us without asking questions? a very well known and respected affiliate greedymoose said on the a4uforum words to the effect of so google moves and we all jump.
Some of the comments have been very supportive of google cart..
“I am not worried about the amount of data that google hold“
affiliates will see a big increase in conversions”
“It’s not all bad news”.
A great victory for google UK, a fete almost accomplis.
The tactical and political games that have been played over the last few months gone by, will surface in time and some people that have already put two and two together, if they are smart they wont publish on any forum or on any blog.So a quick recap…
What is pixel tracking again? Oh google does not support that in gc, “It’s not all bad news” after all, all merchants have enough technical know how to ensure, if they are running multiple affiliate programs across multiple networks, how to implement a local cookie? “affiliates will see a big increase in conversions”. Merchants running google analytics, google adwords, google cart, in essence their entire business, “I am not worried about the amount of data that google hold“ a third party complete stranger who will now be talking to your clients customers, whom their clients will never know about. But it’s not your own personal business is it, it’s your clients.
Ill leave the last word to Jonathan Miller
