Apple TV as it stands (that is, the little box you connect to your TV set), is an OK product but is not a transformative product in the way that the iPod, iPhone or iPad are.
On this score, Apple TV is a rather ‘unApple’ product.
I spent yesterday trying to figure out what sort of business Apple TV could become, and why. One of most important questions is why would anyone want to enter a mature industry which is characterised by low margins and where most of the players are unprofitable.

Until this week, merchants had to rely on the coupon feature and email in order
to get these promotions out to the affiliates.

will act like the coupon feature, incentive affiliates can pull these offers
and display on their websites just like they have been doing when adding
coupons to their sites. Ideal for true content affiliates too.
Whilst this is not a new idea within the affiliate marketing network platforms,
it’s good to see it go live on Webgains.com, it probably was long overdue but
none the less, this makes all our lives a lot easier.
The “Offers†will be rolled out to affiliates this week, I’m sure they will be pleased too.

How to do Social Selling Properly (for the benefit of Facebook, Google and Twitter…)
The value of goods and services purchased online in 2012 was USD 440 billion, a figure that will grow to USD 668 billion by 2016. That’s a pretty big market.
So here’s an interesting question for you: is online retail mature?
Online retail is pretty much the same as it was 10 years ago: the business model is established, the payment and product discovery infrastructure is in place and consumers understand and accept online retail as a major, sustainable online service category.
We all know that online retail is still a growth market, but is it a mature market?
I think the answer to this question is NO WAY: I just cannot accept that in, say, 100 years people will still be buying products and services via online shops, just as they do today.
Surely there must be a way to fuse online retail with social relationships so that one peer could sell a product to another peer? I am not thinking about selling used goods, like on eBay. I am thinking about selling new merchandise, like Amazon. So every person on the planet could become a retailer and, with wireless devices, every face to face interaction could become a point of sale.
If this were possible then the online retail market would explode into billions of potential sales points and we would have a billion-strong global army of ‘social sellers’ each of whom would be focused on selling specific products and services they knew and were passionate about.
Question: What would this do to the online retail market as we know it? Answer: Serious damage.
When I think about social selling, this is what I’m thinking about.
If the market were to evolve in such a direction then in years to come we would look back at today’s online retail ‘shop’ model as being very crude.
Surprisingly, Google and Facebook do not appear to appreciate the potential of social selling:
Facebook seems unable or unwilling to implement any revenue model that does not involve selling advertising, while Google is focused on better enabling online retail in the wider sense using products like Google Wallet and Google Shopping.

should the customer from abroad get a lesser shopping experience?
Taking the plunge and setting up an affiliate program to increase sales from abroad is brave move and more often than not, a wise move.
So a simple question for merchants… should the customer from abroad get a lesser shopping experience than the customers who shop at the merchant’s home location? We all know the answer yet some online retailers are blind to this…All customer shopping experiences, regardless of where they are coming from should be painless. If online retailers want customers from abroad then at the very least they should have a home page that welcomes and does not deters international customers. It seems like the international customer is just an after thought. The amount of sites I see where by it states, we accept international orders, then offers little or no information is just too many missed opportunities for that online retailer.
Clear international delivery and returns and a check out that does not require guess work. Even though English is a universal language it is arrogant to assume everyone should understand it. How hard would it be to have a page (sizing, shipping, check out process) in different languages? Not hard at all.
“We want to test the waters first before we commitâ€. I’m afraid, if by not doing any additional work on the website to accommodate overseas transactions, then the results of the test wont encourage further work on the primary website.
Its simple logic for the most part, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just make it go further.
